climbing for people, not profit - 2025 climbing price update

We’ve all experienced the pressures of rising costs this year, from inflation and soaring utility bills to the increased price of day-to-day essentials. Through challenging times, it’s even more important to have access to opportunities to keep active, meet friends, and have fun. Climbing is the ideal opportunity for this.

With this in mind, and despite rising costs, we’ve made the decision to not increase our climbing prices for at least June 2025 (at which point, we won’t have raised our climbing prices in 18 months – and we won’t unless absolutely necessary).

This decision is made with our climbing community in mind. You shouldn’t have to bear the load, and accessing the wall should be as easy as it can be.

As a not-for-profit, we’re driven by a genuine passion for climbing - not by filling the pockets of investors. Our mission is simple: to make climbing accessible. Everything we do is focused on celebrating climbing and advancing its benefits for everyone, regardless of their financial situation. At Mile End Climbing Wall, everyone can expect top-quality climbing and a friendly welcome.

Despite rising costs, we’ve continued to invest in our wall and the climbing community:

• We’ve raised staff wages to continue matching the London Living Wage, but we’re still not increasing climbing prices.
• We’ve invested in over 200 new climbing holds (and in new cleaning equipment to keep them in top condition), to ensure we continue to offer exciting and diverse routes for all levels—no climbing price increase.
• Our top priority is safety and we're always investing in training and equipment to ensure we exceed the highest standards. This year, we've also replaced all carpets across our mats with safer, more sustainable materials. Still, climbing prices remain the same.
• We've continued to champion grassroots youth climbing, from our Mile End Squad to hosting GB Development Days and the Youth Climbing Series. Climbing prices remain the same!

If our climbing prices are still a stretch for you, please talk to us. We are committed to finding ways to help everyone who wants to climb get through our doors—no one will be turned away because of their financial situation.

Going into 2025, our climbing prices will remain unchanged and we will continue to remain one of the most affordable climbing walls in London - never sacrificing quality in being so.
